1. Applications (199907135, 199907143) by COGECO CABLE INC., (COGECO CABLE) 1 Place Ville Marie, Suite 3636, Montréal, Quebec, H3B 3P2, on behalf of Cableworks Communications Inc. (Cableworks) and Halton Cable Systems Inc. (Halton Cable), for authority to acquire effective control of Cableworks, through the transfer of all of the shares of the licensee and its subsidiary to Cogeco Cable. Cableworks is the parent company of Halton Cable. |
Cableworks operates cable systems currently serving approximately 64,000 basic cable subscribers in Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Fergus and Grimsby. Halton Cable is the licensee of cable distribution undertakings serving approximately 20,000 subscribers in Rockwood and Georgetown. |
2. Application (199907151) by COGECO CABLE, on behalf of TV Hamilton Limited (TV Hamilton) for authority to acquire effective control of TV Hamilton. TV Hamilton is the licensee of an English-language community programming network. The proposed transaction would transfer the one-third voting interest in TV Hamilton currently held by Cableworks to Cogeco Cable, which already hold a one-third voting interest in TV Hamilton. |
3. Cogeco Cable is one of the four largest multiple system operators in Canada, with diversified holdings in television and cable systems serving over 800,000 subscribers in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Quebec. |
