On 22 January 1999, Bell Canada and BC TEL each filed an application for approval of tariff revisions pertaining to local and toll transit services. On 25 January 1999, TELUS Communications Inc. also filed an application for approval of tariff revisions pertaining to local and toll transit services. The companies noted that they filed these tariffs pursuant to directives contained in paragraphs 98 and 99 of Local Competition, Telecom Decision CRTC 97-8, dated 1 May 1997. |

1.On 29 January 1999, Call-Net Enterprises Inc., on behalf of ACC TelEnterprises Ltd., AT&T Canada Long Distance Services Company, Call-Net Communications Inc., Clearnet Communications Inc., MetroNet Communications Group Inc., Microcell Telecommunications Inc., Sprint Canada Inc. and Videotron Telecom Ltd., filed comments requesting that the Commission initiate a full public process regarding these tariff notices. |

2.On 9 February 1999, TCI filed reply comments. |
|
3.On 22 January 1999, Call-Net Enterprises Inc., Microcell Telecommunications Inc. and Videotron Telecom Ltd. filed additional comments. |
|
4.On the basis of the current record of this proceeding, the Commission considers it appropriate that the proposed tariffs be implemented. |
|
5.Parties may file comments within 30 days of the date of this Order. |
|
6.In light of the foregoing, the Commission approves the proposed tariff revisions on an interim basis. |
