Telecom Order CRTC 99-1185

  Ottawa, 21 December 1999
On 3 November 1999, the Commission received an application from Nexicom Telephones Inc. (Nexicom Telephones) for approval to introduce Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) services.
  File No.: Tariff Notice 19
  1. Nexicom Telephones proposed to introduce: (a) an ISDN residential service at $34.95 per month; and (b) an ISDN business service at $69.95 per month.
  2. The Commission notes that Nexicom Telephones did not submit cost information supporting its rates.
  3. The Commission is satisfied that the proposed ISDN business rate is compensatory. However, the Commission is concerned that the proposed residential rate would fail to recover the costs associated with the offering.
  4. In light of the foregoing, the Commission orders that: (a) the proposed introduction of an ISDN business service is approved; (b) the proposed introduction of an ISDN residential service is denied; and (c) Nexicom Telephones is to issue revised tariff pages to reflect the above determinations.
