Addition of CKMI-TV-1 on a discretionary tier of the cable undertaking serving Trois-Rivières
1. The Commission approves the application by Cogeco Câble Canada inc. (Cogeco) for authority to distribute CKMI-TV-1 (Global) Montréal, on a discretionary tier of the cable distribution undertaking serving Trois-Rivières.
2. The licensee may receive this signal over the air, or from any licensed or exempted Canadian broadcasting distribution undertaking authorized to provide signals to other broadcasting distribution undertakings. The Commission notes that the licensee will receive CKMI-TV-1 via optical fibre.
3. The Commission received an intervention from CHUM Television in opposition to this application. The Commission has noted the intervention and is satisfied with the licensee's response.
4. The Commission is satisfied that the distribution of CKMI-TV-1 is in line with the guidelines on the cable distribution of distant Canadian television signals set out in Public Notices CRTC 1985-61, 1993-74 and 1997-84.
