| Flexibility to broadcast infomercials for specialty services | |
| In Public Notice CRTC 1999-97, dated 11 June 1999, entitled Building on success - A policy framework for Canadian television, the Commission indicated that it was prepared to extend the authority to broadcast infomercials to specialty services, under the same requirements as those for other broadcasting undertakings. The condition of licence set out below will allow the specialty services listed in the appendix to broadcast informercials. | |
| 1. The Commission approves the applications by the licensees of the specialty television services listed in the appendix to this decision to amend their broadcasting licences by adding the following condition of licence: | |

| 2. The Commission reminds the licensees that, as set out in Public Notice 1999-97, infomercials should be logged as having no program nationality. When infomercials are logged, the start and end times should be listed and the Class should be indicated as "PGI". No other information relating to infomercials need be included in the program log. | |
| 3. The Commission acknowledges the receipt of interventions in opposition to three of these applications, and is satisfied with the responses of the respective licensees. | |
