One-year renewal |

1. The Commission renews the broadcasting licence held by TVOntario for the television programming undertaking broadcasting coverage of the Ontario Legislative Assembly, from 1 September 1999 to 31 August 2000, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licence. |

2. The Commission has granted this administrative renewal in order to allow the licensee to submit a licence renewal application that takes into account changes in the regulatory framework for television announced in Public Notice CRTC 1999-97 dated 11 June 1999. |

3. The decision released today does not dispose of any substantive issues that may exist with respect to the renewal of this licence. When a licence renewal application has been filed, it will be announced and interested parties will then have an opportunity to comment. |
