Decision CRTC 99-122 |
Shaw Cablesystems Ltd. |
Various locations in British Columbia |
Applications processed by Public Notices |
Change in signal source |
1. The Commission approves the applications to amend the broadcasting licences for the Class 1 and Class 2 cable distribution undertakings serving the communities set out in the appendix to this decision. The licensee is currently authorized to distribute U.S. signals from Spokane. This amendment will allow the licensee to continue to receive the same U.S. services but change the source of these signals. |
2. The licensee is therefore authorized, by condition of licence, to distribute at its option, the programming services of KOMO-TV (ABC), KIRO-TV (CBS), KING-TV (NBC) and KCTS-TV (PBS) Spokane, Washington, as part of the basic service. |
3. The licensee may receive any authorized signals over the air, or from any licensed or exempted Canadian broadcasting distribution undertaking authorized to provide signals to other broadcasting distribution undertakings. The Commission notes that the licensee will receive the above-noted signals via satellite. |
4. With respect to the Class 3 cable distribution undertaking serving 100 Mile House (199900783), the Commission notes that the U.S. signals to be received via satellite are on the List of Part 3 Eligible Satellite Services and that therefore no specific authorization is required. |
This decision is to be appended to the licence. It is available in alternative format upon request, and may also be viewed at the following Internet site: www.crtc.gc.ca |
