Public Notice

  Ottawa, 10 July 1998
  Public Notice CRTC 1998-63
The Commission has received the following applications:
  ONTARIO REGION
  1. AJAX, Ontario
Application (199801311) by DURHAM RADIO INC., to amend the broadcasting licence of the (radio) programming undertaking CJKX-FM Ajax by increasing the effective radiated power from 5,110 to 15,560 watts.
The licensee states that the increase in power will improve coverage to its primary market area, The Regional Municipality of Durham.
  Examination of application:
  Durham Radio Inc.
339 Westney Road South
Suite 201
Ajax, Ontario
L1S 7J6
  2.  CRYSTAL BEACH, Ontario
Application (199712633) by the CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION to amend the broadcasting licence of the (radio) programming undertaking CBLA-FM Toronto, by changing the authorized frequency of CBLA-FM-1 Crystal Beach from 100.3 MHz (channel 262A) to 90.5 MHz (channel 213A). The effective radiated power will remain unchanged at 319 watts.
This change is a result of Decision CRTC 97-362 approving applications by the CBC to convert AM station CBL Toronto to the FM band on frequency 99.1 MHz, and to add transmitters at Paris and Crystal Beach. Because of possible co-channel interference with CKRZ-FM Ohsweken, the Commission required the CBC in its decision, to use a different frequency at Crystal Beach.
