Public Hearing for New French-language Specialty Services

The Commission has received the following
application: |

1. SHERBROOKE, Quebec |
|
Application (199702460) by RADIO-SOLEIL-ESTRIE,
P.O. Box 25136, Station King West, Sherbrooke, Quebec, J1J 4M8, for authority
to use the frequency of 100.3 MHz (channel 262A) for the proposed
French-language radiocommunication distribution undertaking at Sherbrooke
(CIRA-FM-1), operating with an effective radiated power of 2300 watts. |

In Decision
CRTC 96-732 dated 4 November
1996, the Commission approved, with the exception of the technical parameters
proposed, the application for a broadcasting licence to carry on a
radiocommunication distribution undertaking consisting of an FM radio
transmitter at Sherbrooke to distribute, in non-encrypted mode, the programs
of CIRA-FM Montréal, Quebec. |

The Commission notes that the above changes deal
with the concerns raised in Decision
CRTC 96-732 dated 4 November
1996. |
