Telecom Order CRTC 98-278
The Commission has received an application under BC TEL Tariff Notice (TN) 3755, dated 20 January 1998, to increase the Late Payment Charge (LPC) from 1.00% per month to 1.25%.

1. The Commission has received comments from the British Columbia Public Interest Advocacy Centre on behalf of British Columbia Old Age Pensioners' Organization, Council of Senior Citizens' Organizations of British Columbia, Federated Anti-Poverty Groups of British Columbia, Senior Citizens' Association of British Columbia, West End Seniors' Network, End Legislated Poverty, British Columbia Coalition for Information Access and Tenants Rights Action Coalition (BCOAPO et al.) submitting that the proposed increase in the LPC would be inconsistent with Implementation of Price Cap Regulation - Decision Regarding Interim Local Rate Increases and Other Matters, Telecom Decision CRTC 97-18, 18 December 1997 (Decision 97-18).
2. The Commission notes BC TEL's reply that LPC is an uncapped service under Decision 97-18. The Commission further notes the company's submission that the proposed LPC rate increase is in accordance with the existing formula for changes to the LPC.
3. In light of the foregoing, TN 3755 is approved.
