Telecom Order

Ottawa, 27 October 1998
Telecom Order CRTC 98-1063
On 28 July 1998, NBTel Inc. (NBTel) filed Tariff Notice 748 proposing to discontinue BRUNSWICK BCS for new customers. Under the proposal, the service would continue to be available to existing customers.
File No.: Tariff Notice 748
1.On 28 August 1998, Fundy Cable Ltd./Ltée (Fundy) intervened, stating among other things that, if this proposal were to be approved, it would permit NBTel to grandfather the existing BRUNSWICK BCS pricing.
2.NBTel replied on 4 September 1998 stating that, contrary to Fundy's allegation, the reclassification of a service to "discontinued" does not preclude pricing action.
3.In view of the above, the Commission approves NBTel's application effective the date of this Order.
