Decision CRTC 98-71

The Comedy Network Inc. (formerly 1155636 Ontario Inc.)

Across Canada - 199707775

Licence amendment for The Comedy Network

1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1997-95 dated 21 July 1997, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence of the national English-language specialty television programming undertaking known as The Comedy Network, by authorizing a second satellite uplink to distribute the service's signal in Western Canada three hours after the original feed to Eastern Canada.

2. The Commission notes that the nature of the service will not be affected nor the licensee's proposals for Canadian programming. With the exception of the "flipping" of the programs "Saturday Night Live" and "Open Mike" on the Western Canada feed, the licensee's program schedule will remain unchanged.

This decision is to be appended to the licence.
