Northeast Social Club
Poste Lavérendrye, Quebec - 199705224
Licence renewal
1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1998-39 dated 22 April 1998, the Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the radiocommunication distribution undertaking serving Poste Lavérendrye from 1 September 1998 to 31 August 2005, subject to the conditions in effect under the current licence, as well as to those conditions specified in the licence to be issued.
2. The Commission approves the licensee's application to delete the authority to operate the transmitters VF2153 and VF2154 distributing the programming of CFNY-FM Brampton and CBU-FM Vancouver, respectively.
3. The Commission also approves the licensee's application to change the frequency for the transmitter VF2155 from 102.3 MHz to 103.9 MHz, to increase the effective radiated power from 3 to 10 watts and to change the program source from the programming service Musique d'ambiance (Musisat) to CKAC Montréal.
4. Finally, the Commission approves the aplication to change the frequency for the transmitter VF2156 from 107.9 MHz to 99.9 MHz and to increase the effective radiated power from 3 to 10 watts.
5. The Commission notes that the undertaking now consists of two transmitters, VF2155 and VF2156 which respectively distribute, in non-encrypted mode, the programming services of CKAC and CITE-FM Montréal.
6. The Department of Industry has advised the Commission that this application is conditionally technically acceptable, and that a Broadcasting Certificate will only be issued once it has been determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.
7. In accordance with subsection 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act (the Act), this renewal is subject to the issuance of a Broadcasting Certificate by the Department of Industry.
8. The Commission draws the licensee's attention to subsection 22(4) of the Act which provides that any broadcasting licence issued, amended or renewed in contravention of section 22 of the Act is of no force or effect.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
