Ottawa, 23 June 1998

Decision CRTC 98-180

Shaw Cablesystems Ltd.

Hinton, Alberta - 199715406

Licence amendment

1. Following a Public Hearing in the National Capital Region beginning 16 February 1998, the Commission approves the application for authority to change the method of reception of three signals originating from Spokane, Washington. Accordingly, the licensee is authorized, by condition of licence, to distribute, at its option, KXLY-TV (ABC), KREM-TV (CBS) and KAYU-TV (FOX) Spokane, as part of the basic service.

2. The licensee may receive any authorized signals over the air, or from any licensed or exempted Canadian broadcasting distribution undertaking authorized to provide signals to other broadcasting distribution undertakings. The Commission notes that the licensee plans to receive the signals via satellite.

This decision is to be appended to the licence.
