Use of SCMO channel - Approved

1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1998-30 dated 14 April 1998, the Commission approves the application by Dufferin Communications Inc. (Dufferin) to amend the broadcasting licence for CIDC-FM Orangeville, by adding a condition of licence authorizing the licensee to use a Subsidiary Communications Multiplex Operations (SCMO) channel for the purpose of distributing ethnic programming in the German language.

2. The SCMO service producer will be the multicultural radio station CIAO Brampton. CKMW Radio Ltd. is the owner of both CIAO and Dufferin, licensee of CIDC-FM Orangeville.

3. The licensee is expected to adhere to the guidelines set out in Appendix A to Public Notice CRTC 1989-23 dated 23 March 1989 entitled Services Using the Vertical Blanking Interval (Television) or Subsidiary Communications Multiplex Operation (FM).

This decision is to be appended to the licence.
