Increase in power for CKWR-FM
1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1997-66 dated 28 May 1997, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CKWR-FM Kitchener by increasing the effective radiated power from 1,430 watts to 2,400 watts, and by changing the frequency from 98.7 MHz, channel 254A to 98.5 MHz, channel 253B. In addition, the licensee proposes to relocate the transmitter to the CBC-owned CBLFT-8 Kitchener television tower.
2. The Commission hereby authorizes the licensee to operate the undertaking on the basis of the contours and particulars resulting from the above-mentioned changes.
3. The Commission notes the licensee's statement that these technical changes are necessary to eliminate interference presently received from co-channel station CBCB-FM Owen Sound.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
