Telecom Order

Ottawa, 18 June 1997
Telecom Order CRTC 97-854
The Commission received an application by Société nationale des télécommunications du Québec (SNTQ) dated 6 March 1997 for an exemption from contribution for Centrex services in the (514) 494 exchange.
File No.: 97-8626-S17-01
1. In support of its application, SNTQ provided an affidavit affirming that the seventeen lines using five Public Switched Telephone Network connections which are classified as interconnecting circuits pursuant to Bell Canada's (Bell) tariffs are solely used by SNTQ staff for the purpose of making and receiving administrative calls and that this system is not used by SNTQ to provide telecommunications services to its customers.
2. By letter dated 28 April 1997, Bell noted that SNTQ's affidavit affirms that the services in question are used solely by the applicant for administrative use and that the number of services involved is reasonable, and that the affidavit satisfies the evidentiary requirements in support of such an exemption. Accordingly, Bell agreed with the requested exemption.
3. The Commission notes that SNTQ's affidavit meets the Commission's evidentiary requirements for an exemption from contribution.
4. In light of the foregoing, the Commission orders that:
SNTQ's application is approved effective the date of installation.
