Telecom Order

Ottawa, 19 March 1997
Telecom Order CRTC 97-382
IN THE MATTER OF an application filed by Québec-Téléphone under Tariff Notice 152 dated 31 January 1997, for approval of tariff revisions providing for the extension of a current promotional campaign on its Advantage Toll-free service until 31 May 1997.
WHEREAS the Commission notes that this promotion was first introduced on 9 February 1996 and was twice extended until 31 January 1997;
WHEREAS the Commission notes that approval of the proposed extension would result in the promotion being continuously in effect from 9 February 1996 to 31 May 1997; and
WHEREAS the Commission is of the view that the proposed duration of the promotion exceeds the boundaries of a legitimate promotion of limited duration and therefore should not be exempt from the imputation test requirements established in Review of Regulatory Framework - Targeted Pricing, Anti-Competitive Pricing and Imputation Test for Telephone Company Toll Filings, Telecom Decision CRTC 94-13, 13 July 1994 -
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT:
The tariff revisions submitted by Québec-Téléphone under Tariff Notice 152 are denied.
