Telecom Order

Ottawa, 5 February 1998
Telecom Order CRTC 97-1923-1
ERRATUM
File No.: 8085-RP0006/97
1. In Telecom Order CRTC 97-1923, 23 December 1997 (Order 97-1923) with respect to Prince Rupert City Telephones (Prince Rupert), the Commission stated that it had "approved a $2.00 increase in local rates effective 1 November 1997, the effective date being two months earlier than that which was proposed in PN 97-8".
2. Based on the record of the proceeding leading to Order 97-1923, it is noted that Prince Rupert has implemented Phase III costing, and will be able to calculate a Carrier Access Tariff (CAT) for 1998. It is the Commission's intention that the CAT, when put in place, will be effective 1 January 1998 and replace the revenue settlement agreement.
3. In similar Orders issued on 23 December 1997, in the cases of Abitibi-Consolidated, Cochrane and O.N. Tel, the Commission stated that it considers that the respective settlement agreements should be made interim as of 1 January 1998 to allow additional revenues from local rate increases to be reflected in lower negotiated settlement agreements for 1998.
4. Similarly, in the case of Prince Rupert, in order to allow additional revenues from the above-noted local rate increases to be reflected in a CAT for 1998, Prince Rupert's revenue settlement agreement with BC TEL should be made interim as of 1 January 1998.
5. Paragraph 8 of Order 97-1923 is hereby corrected to include the following:
(f) Prince Rupert's revenue settlement agreement with BC TEL is made interim as of 1 January 1998.

Secretary General
