Telecom Order CRTC 97-1687

On 22 August 1997, BC TEL filed an application for approval of tariff revisions to its General Tariff Item 110, proposing an increase in the Multi-Element Plan Service Charge for residential field connections.

1. On 10 September 1997, the Commission issued Telecom Order CRTC 97-1271 approving the proposed tariff revisions on an interim basis.
|
2. As part of its application, BC TEL filed costing information in confidence which demonstrated that the service would still be provided below cost at the proposed rate of $100.00.
|
3. The Commission received a letter of comment dated 9 October 1997 from the British Columbia Public Interest Advocacy Centre on behalf of BCOAPO et al. submitting that the changes sought in Tariff Notice 3680 should be refused.

4. In light of the information before it, the Commission approves the proposed tariff revisions on a final basis effective the date of this Order.
