Licence amendment
Following Public Notice CRTC 1997-2 dated 9 January 1997, the Commission approves the application for authority to amend the broadcasting licence of the undertaking serving the above-noted communities, by relieving the licensee, by condition of licence, of the requirement of section 12 of the Cable Television Regulations 1986 to distribute the programming services of CHRO-TV Pembroke and CFGS-TV Hull on unrestricted channels. Should the quality of the signals deteriorate significantly, the Commission expects the licensee to undertake immediate corrective action including, if necessary, the distribution of the services on other channels.
The Commission notes the licensee's intention to distribute CHRO-TV on channel 6 and CFGS-TV on channel 11.
The Commission acknowledges the interventions received with respect to this application as well as the licensee's replies thereto.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
