Decision

Ottawa, 10 June 1997
Decision CRTC 97-263
Coopérative de câblodistribution de l'Est du Québec
Saint-Eugène-de-Ladrière and Saint-Valérien, Quebec - 199609129 - 199609145
Licence renewals
1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1996-154 dated 13 December 1996, the Commission renews the broadcasting licences held by Coopérative de câblodistribution de l'Est du Québec, for the cable distribution undertakings serving Saint-Eugène-de-Ladrière and Saint-Valérien, from 1 September 1997 to 31 August 2003.
2. The licence term granted herein, while less than the maximum of seven years permitted by the Broadcasting Act, will enable the Commission to consider the next licence renewal of these undertakings in accordance with the Commission's regional plan and to better distribute the workload within the Commission. The term is not reflective of any Commission concern regarding the licensee's performance.
3. The operation of these undertakings is regulated pursuant to Parts I, III and IV of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 and the licences will be subject to the conditions in effect under the current licences, as well as to those conditions specified in this decision and in the licences to be issued.
4. It is a condition of each licence that, for community programming and any other programming of a service that it originates, the licensee adhere to the guidelines on the depiction of violence in television programming set out in the Canadian Association of Broadcasters' Voluntary Code Regarding Violence in Television Programming, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission.
This decision is to be appended to each licence.
