Decision CRTC 97-105

Cablevision TRP-SDM inc.

Trois-Pistoles and the rural area including Saint-Mathieu and Saint-Hubert, Quebec- 199607850

Licence amendment

Following Public Notice CRTC 1997-4 dated 10 January 1997, the Commission approves the application to amend the licence for the radiocommunication distribution undertaking (MDS) serving the above-noted communities as follows:

-  by deleting the authorized distribution of WTBS (IND) Atlanta, Georgia, The Sports Network (TSN), YTV Canada, Inc. and New Country Network (NCN) and by adding the signals of the Réseau de l'information (RDI), Le Canal D, Discovery Channel and Arts & Entertainment (A&E);

-  by increasing the effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) from 54.5 watts to 72.6 watts; and

-  by relocating the antenna to a site with the following coordinates:
 48°06'38"N and 69°01'21"O.

These amendments will change the coverage area of the undertaking, by shifting it to the northwest for a distance of approximately 10 kilometres.

The approval granted herein reflects the technical parameters of the undertaking as built, and not those originally authorized.

The Commission also approves the licensee's request to delete the condition of licence prohibiting it from soliciting or accepting a subscription from, or making available decoding equipment for use by, any person resident within the authorized service area of any cable distribution undertaking, or within the approved service contours of any other subscription-based broadcasting undertaking.

This decision is to be appended to the licence.

Secretary General
