2. KAKABEKA FALLS, Ontario

Application (952775500) by FIBER-TEL ENTERPRISES INC. to amend the broadcasting licence to carry on a (radiocommunication) distribution undertaking serving Kakabeka Falls, Murillo, Stanley, Rosslyn Village, Lakeshore Drive and surrounding area, by adding a condition of licence for authority to distribute on the basic service, the following programming services received via satelllite:

Industry Canada has certified this proposal as a special case, subject to special conditions. As the application does not conform to the Spectrum Policy and Standard Radio System Plan, one of those conditions was that Fiber-Tel would explore the use of digital video compression or alternative means for distribution, and that Industry Canada would review its approval within 3 years. It was also noted that in the event that the authorized channels prevent or restrict the entry of a system conforming to Industry Canada policy, Fiber-Tel must vacate or modify these channels within one year after receiving notice from Industry Canada.
