The Commission has received the following applications:

1. HAMILTON (PART OF) AND SURROUNDING AREA, CALEDONIA, CAYUGA, DUNNVILLE, HAGERSVILLE, MOUNT HOPE AND BINBROOK, Ontario
|
Application (199609814) by MOUNTAIN CABLEVISION LIMITED to amend the broadcasting licence of the (cable) distribution undertaking serving the above-noted localities, as follows:
|
- by increasing the service area by establishing a perimeter boundary line around an area that previously included only regional and county roads and by continuing the perimeter boundary line to encompass the previously licensed Towns of Mount Hope, Caledonia and Binbrook. The newly defined perimeter line would increase the service area to the south and the east to also include additional country roads.
|
The above-noted change to the service area is more specifically detailed in the application.

2. KAPUSKASING, Ontario

Application (199607834) by PELMOREX RADIO INC., 186 Robert Speck Parkway, Suite 200, Mississauga, Ontario, L4Z 3G1, to amend the broadcasting licence of the (radio) programming undertaking CKOY Timmins, by adding a transmitter (CHYK) at Kapuskasing, operating on a frequency of 1230 kHz with a day-time transmitter power of 1,000 watts and a night-time transmitter power of 600 watts.

The licensee indicates that CHYK is no longer producing local programming and is currently operating as a transmitter of CKOY Timmins, Ontario. If this application is approved, the current, separate licence for CHYK would be revoked.
