Telecom Order CRTC 96-600
IN THE MATTER OF an application by The Corporation of the City of Thunder Bay - Telephone Division (Thunder Bay) under Tariff Notice 13 dated 21 May 1996, for approval of tariff revisions regarding the implementation of a monthly surcharge for Relay Service.
WHEREAS this application is filed in response to Telecom Order CRTC 96-269 dated 25 March 1996 (Order 96-269) which granted approval to Bell Canada (Bell) to apply a monthly surcharge to all residence and business switched network access customers in order to recover the costs of providing Relay Service;
WHEREAS in Order 96-269, the Commission also ordered Bell to apply the monthly surcharge to independent telephone companies; and
WHEREAS the effective date of the Relay Service surcharge approved by Order 96-269 is 1 April 1996 -
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT:
1.  The proposed tariff revisions submitted by Thunder Bay under Tariff Notice 13 are approved effective 1 July 1996.
2.  The past charging of rates for Relay Service by Thunder Bay otherwise than in accordance with a CRTC approved tariff for the period from 1 April to 1 July 1996 is ratified pursuant to section 25(4) of the Telecommunications Act.
