Licence amendments related to level of hits
|
Following Public Notice CRTC 1996-11 dated 12 January 1996, the Commission approves, by majority vote, the applications by the licensees of the radio programming undertakings listed in the appendix to this decision, to amend their conditions of licence respecting their Promises of Perfomance in order to exclude from the calculation of the hit:non-hit ratio for the broadcast week of 3-9 March 1996, a special documentary program celebrating 25 years of Canadian music.
|
The proposal requires an exception to the Commission's FM
Policy outlined in Public Notice CRTC 1990-111 dated 17 December 1990, which requires FM stations to restrict their use of hits to less than 50% of all music selections broadcast each week. In granting this exception, the Commission has taken into account the fact that the special program celebrates the achievements and development of the Canadian music industry which the Commission's policies and regulations seek to benefit. |
> This decision is to be appended to each licence.
