Decision

Ottawa, 9 October 1996
Decision CRTC 96-670
The partners of Western World Communications Limited Partnership
Selkirk, Manitoba -199608205
Acquisition of assets
Following a Public Hearing in the National Capital Region held on 26 August 1996, the Commission approves the application by Forvest Broadcasting Corporation (Forvest), a partner in Western World Communications Limited Partnership, for authority to acquire the assets of CFQX-FM Selkirk, from the general partner Western World Communications Corp. (Western World) and, on behalf of the new partners, for a broadcasting licence to continue the operation of this undertaking.
The Commission notes that the new partners will be Forvest acting as general partner and Radio One Investments Inc. (Radio One). The new partnership will be known as Western World Communications Limited Partnership.
The Commission also notes that this application results from an intra-corporate reorganization within Forvest whereby Western World was wound up into Forvest without any change occurring in the effective control of CFQX-FM.
The Commission will issue a licence to the partners Forvest and Radio One, expiring 31 August 1997, the current expiry date, upon surrender of the current licence. The licence will be subject to the same conditions as those in effect under the current licence, as well as to any other condition specified in the licence to be issued.
This decision is to be appended to the licence
Allan J. Darling
Secretary General
