Ottawa, 21 June 1996
Decision CRTC 96-241
Corporation Municipale du Village de Parent
Parent, Quebec - 952314300
Licence renewal
Following Public Notice CRTC 1996-13 dated 19 January 1996, the Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the radiocommunication distribution undertaking serving Parent from 1 September 1996 to 31 August 2003, subject to the conditions in effect under the current licence, as well as to those conditions specified in the licence to be issued.
The Commission notes that this undertaking distributes, in non-encrypted mode, the following programming services:
CFTM-TV (TVA) Montréal 10 8
CFJP-TV (TQS) Montréal 15 2
CITE-FM Montréal 92,1 MHz 10 3*
The Department of Industry has advised the Commission that it is prepared to renew the Broadcasting Certificate for the transmitter which broadcasts CFJP-TV for a period of two years only, expiring 31 August 1998. With respect to the operation of this transmitter beyond this period, the Commission draws the licensee's attention to subsection 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act (the Act) pertaining to the technical certification of broadcasting undertakings and to subsection 22(4) of the Act which provides that any broadcasting licence issued, amended or renewed in contravention of section 22 of the Act is of no force or effect.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
