Decision

Ottawa, 17 June 1996
Decision CRTC 96-240
La Coopérative de Câblo-distribution de Saint-Just-de-Bretenières
Saint-Just-de-Bretenières, Quebec - 951625300
Licence renewal
Following Public Notice CRTC 1996-13 dated 19 January 1996, the Commission renews the licence held by La Coopérative de Câblo-distribution de Saint-Just-de-Bretenières, for the cable distribution undertaking Saint-Just-de-Bretenières, from 1 September 1996 to 31 August 2003.
The operation of this undertaking is regulated pursuant to Parts I, III and IV of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 (the regulations) and the licence will be subject to the conditions in effect under the current licence, as well as to those conditions specified in this decision and in the licence to be issued.
Consistent with Decision CRTC 89-337 dated 19 June 1989, it is a condition of licence that the licensee be relieved of the requirement that it distribute at least four television programming services as provided for in section 23 of the regulations, so long as it does not distribute any U.S. television service, as shown in the current application.
The Department of Industry has advised the Commission that it is prepared to renew the Broadcasting Certificate for a period of two years only, expiring 31 August 1998. With respect to the operation of this undertaking beyond this period, the Commission draws the licensee's attention to subsection 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act (the Act) pertaining to the technical certification of broadcasting undertakings and to subsection 22(4) of the Act which provides that any broadcasting licence issued, amended or renewed in contravention of section 22 of the Act is of no force or effect.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
Allan J. Darling
Secretary General
