Telecom Public Notice CRTC 95-5
MANITOBA TELEPHONE SYSTEM -REVISED RATES FOR ROTARY DIAL SERVICE
Reference: Tariff Notice 104
The Commission has received an application from the Manitoba Telephone System (Manitoba Tel), dated 22 December 1994, for approval of tariff revisions that would reduce the differential between TouchTone and rotary dial service rates. The company proposes to reduce the TouchTone differential in three stages, eliminating it entirely effective 1 February 1997.
Manitoba Tel states that the actual costs of providing rotary dial service are now similar to those of TouchTone service. The company states that its proposed increases for rotary dial service will bring rates closer to the actual costs of providing the service.
The application may be examined at any of Manitoba Tel's business offices or at the offices of the CRTC, Room 201, Central Building, Les Terrasses de la Chaudière, 1 Promenade du Portage, Hull, Quebec, or 275 Portage Avenue, Suite 1810, Winnipeg, Manitoba. A copy of Manitoba Tel's application may be obtained by any interested person upon request directed to the company at the address shown below.
If you wish to comment on the application, please write to Mr. Allan J. Darling, Secretary General, CRTC, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 0N2, (fax: 819-953-0795), by 12 April 1995. A copy of your letter should be sent to Ms. Merry Harper, Director, Regulatory Affairs, Manitoba Telephone System, Box 6666, 489 Empress Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 3V6, (fax: 204-775-9255).
The Commission has given the proposed tariff revisions interim approval and will make a final determination after comments received in response to this Public Notice have been considered.
