Call for Comments on a Proposed Approach to the Introduction of Digital Radio
The Commission has received the following applications:
1. ACROSS CANADA
Application (950791400) by ROGERS BROADCASTING LIMITED, 36 Victoria Street, Toronto, Ontario, M5C 1H3, for authority to transfer control, through the transfer of an 11% interest, of the MH Radio/Rawlco Partnership from its wholly owned subsidiary CFCN Productions Limited to 566684 Alberta Ltd.
As a result of this application, the partnership will be effectively controlled by 566684 Alberta Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Rawlco Communications Ltd. which will have a 51% interest. The partners are presently licensed to operate the New Country Network ("NCN"), a national specialty service.
The ownership of the partnership will therefore be changed as follows:

Application (950378000) by CENTRAL ISLAND BROADCASTING LTD., 4550 Wellington Road, Nanaimo, British Columbia, V9T 2H3, to amend the broadcasting licence of the (radio) programming undertaking CHPQ Parksville, by changing the frequency from 1,370 to 1,350 kHz and by increasing the day and night power from 1,000 to 10,000 watts. The applicant indicated the aforementioned changes are necessary to effectively reach the market place with a competitive receivable signal.
