Proposal to amend the "8 out of 10" point count criterion for funding from the Cable Production Fund, in respect of its application to treaty co-productions
The Commission has received the following applications:

1. NASONWORTH, CHARTERS SETTLEMENT, RUSAGONIS, WAASIS, OLD CAMP ROAD; TRACY, TRACY BACK ROAD, FREDERICTON JUNCTION; PATTERSON, HOYT, New Brunswick
Applications (951040500, 951041300, 951042100) by FUNDY CABLE LTD./LTÉE, 199 Chesley Drive, Saint John, New Brunswick, E2K 4S9, to amend the broadcasting licence of the (cable) distribution undertaking serving the above-mentioned localities, as follows:
- by relieving the licensee from the requirement to distribute at least four television programming services delivered to its local head end by a network operator licensed to extend television and radio services to remote and underserved communities, at least one of which must be a Canadian programming service, pursuant to section 23 of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986; and
- by deleting the local head end at Nasonworth, Tracy and Patterson (Part III) and interconnect to the Fredericton (Classe 1) system.
The licensee proposes to provide a discretionary tier in addition to an expanded basic service.

The applicant proposes to cease operating the CHOA-FM-2 transmitter once the CHOA-FM-1 transmitter will operate at the effective radiated power of 100,000 watts.

- by adding a distant head end to interconnect the Ville de La Baie undertaking, via microwave, to the local head end of the Vidéotron Ltée (cable) distribution undertaking serving Chicoutimi, Quebec;
- by being authorized to distribute on the basic service, CFTU-TV (IND) and CFCF-TV (CTV) Montréal, Quebec, WCAX-TV (CBS) and WVNY (ABC) Burlington, Vermont, WPTZ (NBC) and WCFE-TV (PBS) Plattsburgh, New York, received via microwave from Chicoutimi; and
- by being relieved from the requirement that it distribute at least four television programming services delivered to its local head end by a network operator licensed to extend television and radio services to remote and underserved communities, at least one of which must be a Canadian programming service, pursuant to section 23 of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986.
