The Commission will hold a public hearing commencing on 30 November 1995, at the Radisson Gouverneur, 690 René-Lévesque Boulevard East, Québec, Quebec, to consider the following:
1. ACROSS CANADA
Applications (952083400, 952084200, 952085900, 952278000) by A. GORDON CRAIG, on behalf of The Sports Network Inc. (TSN), Le Réseau des sports (RDS) Inc. (RDS) and 2953285 Canada Inc., a corporation carrying on business as The Discovery Channel and Labatts Communications Inc. (LCI), a general partner in the general partnership, Viewers Choice Canada (VCC), for authority to transfer the effective control of TSN, RDS and The Discovery Channel from Donald G. Campbell, Trustee, to Canadian Telacquisition Inc. (CTI), and for authority to transfer a 24.95% interest in the VCC general partnership from LCI to 3156303 Canada Limited, and for a licence to continue the operation of the partnership's undertaking, VCC.
The transfer of effective control of TSN, RDS and 3156303 Canada Limited will be the result, should the proposed transactions be approved, of the transfer of all the shares held by the Trustee, Donald G. Campbell, to CTI. The transfer of the 24.95% interest in the VCC general partnership will be the result of the winding up of LCI into 3156303 Canada Limited.

2. AMHERST, Nova Scotia
Application (952197200) by CENTRAL NOVA TOURIST ASSOCIATION, P.O. Box 1761, Truro, Nova Scotia, B2N 5Z5, for a broadcasting licence to carry on an English-language low power FM (radio) programming undertaking at Amherst, operating on a frequency of 90.1 MHz (channel 211LP) with an effective radiated power of 20 watts, to broadcast non-commercial tourist information.
The applicant requests a full-term licence to be on air 24 hours a day 365 days a year. The intent of the service is to attract travellers to the Central Nova Scotia Tourist Information Centre. A recently built highway bypass has re-routed traffic around this area.
The Commission will only proceed with this application at the public hearing if advised by the Department of Industry, at least ten days prior to the hearing, that it is technically acceptable.

The applicant proposes to distribute instead the signals CBMT-TV (CBC) and CBFT-TV (SRC) Montréal, Quebec, received via satellite, on the basic band.
PROPOSED FEE
The applicant proposes not to charge a basic monthly fee for the distribution of these services.
The Commission will only proceed with this application at the public hearing if advised by the Department of Industry, at least ten days prior to the hearing, that acceptable technical documentation has been filed with the Department.

a) for authority to acquire the assets and for a broadcasting licence to continue the operation of the (television) programming undertaking CKMI-TV Québec. The licence would be in effect upon surrender of the current licence issued to Télé-Métropole inc.;
b) to amend the broadcasting licence by deleting the condition of licence requiring that the CKMI-TV station be affiliated to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation network;
c) to amend the broadcasting licence by deleting the condition of licence requiring the licensee to provide 3 hours per week of local programming; and
d) to amend the broadcasting licence of CKMI-TV to include transmitters at Sherbrooke, operating on channel 11 with an effective radiated power of 12,900 watts and at Montréal, operating on channel 67 with an effective radiated power of 4,980 watts.
The applicant commits to 6 hours weekly of first-run news program productions over CKMI-TV and proposes 6 hours 30 minutes of other first-run regional programming.
