The Commission will hold a public hearing commencing on 6 April 1995, at the Westin Hotel, 10135 - 100th Street, Edmonton, Alberta, to consider the following:

1. CALGARY AND EDMONTON, Alberta
|

Applications (941920100, 941918500, 941919300) by LEARNING AND SKILLS TELEVISION OF ALBERTA LIMITED for authority to acquire the assets of The Alberta Educational Communications Corporation (known as ACCESS) and, upon surrender of the current licences issued to ACCESS, for broadcasting licences to carry on the (satellite to cable) programming undertaking (known as the ACCESS Network), as well as the (television) programming undertakings CJAL-TV Edmonton and CIAN-TV Calgary, for the purpose of providing educational programs with limited advertising.

Currently, ACCESS is not authorized to broadcast commercial content. The applicant proposes a service that would provide educational programs with limited commercial content. The Ministries of Education and Advanced Education and Career Development of Alberta will purchase up to 57 hours of airtime per week on this service, which will be commercial free, to broadcast their format instructional programs.

Application (950065300) by CRAIG HUTSCAL, 9505 - 69 Avenue, Grande Prairie, Alberta, T8V 5W6, for a broadcasting licence to carry on a religious English and French-languages FM (radio) programming undertaking at Grande Prairie, operating on the frequency 95.5 MHz (channel 238) with an effective radiated power of 10 watts, to broadcast non-commercial programs during the "March for Jesus" on 27 May 1995.

The Commission will only proceed with this application at the public hearing if advised by the Department of Industry, Science and Technology, at least ten days prior to the hearing, that it is technically acceptable.

In the event that the application is brought to the oral phase of the hearing it would be helpful to the Commission if you would provide reasons why your written comments are not sufficient and an appearance is necessary;

- a true copy MUST be sent to the applicant and a proof of such sending must accompany the original sent to the Commission;
