Ottawa, 10 March 1995
Decision CRTC 95-96
La Coopérative Radio Chéticamp Limitée
Chéticamp and Margaree (Magré), Nova Scotia - 941596900
Special event licence
Following a Public Hearing in the National Capital Region on 21 February 1995, the Commission approves the application for a broadcasting licence for a French-language FM community radio programming undertaking (Type A) consisting of an originating station at Chéticamp, on the frequency 99.3 MHz (channel 257LP), with an effective radiated power of 31 watts and a transmitter at Margaree (Magré), on the frequency 98.1 MHz (channel 251LP), with an effective radiated power of 50 watts, to broadcast programs related to the activities of the "Mi-Carême", from 19 to 26 March 1995.
In addition, this station will broadcast programming received from community station CFIM-FM Iles-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec.
The Commission will issue a licence, the term of which will be 19 to 26 March 1995, subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued.
The Commission notes that the applicant will broadcast 6 minutes of advertising per hour.
The Department of Industry Science and Technology (DIST) has advised the Commission that this application is conditionally technically acceptable, and that a Broadcasting Certificate will only be issued once it has been determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.
In accordance with subsection 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission will only issue the licence, and the authority granted herein may only be implemented, at such time as written notification is received from the DIST that its technical requirements have been met, and that a Broadcasting Certificate will be issued.
Allan J. Darling
