Following a Public Hearing in the National Capital Region beginning on 30 October 1995, the Commission approves the application by Telemedia Communications Inc., for an English-language radio network licence for the purpose of broadcasting a sports format service consisting of various talk show programs available from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., seven days a week, subject to pre-emption by play-by-play programs.
The Commission will issue a network licence expiring 31 August 1999, subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued.
The licence term granted herein, while less than the maximum of seven years permitted under the Broadcasting Act, will enable the Commission to consider the renewal of this licence in accordance with the Commission's regional plan and to better distribute the workload within the Commission.
