Decision CRTC 95-651
Great Pacific Industries Inc.
Vancouver, British Columbia - 950976100 - 950977900
Acquisition of assets
Following a Public Hearing in the National Capital Region on 17 July 1995, the Commission approves the application for authority to acquire the assets of the radio programming undertakings CKBD and CJJR-FM Vancouver, from Jim Pattison Enterprises Ltd., and for broadcasting licences to continue the operation of these undertakings.
The Commission will issue licences to Great Pacific Industries Inc., expiring 31 August 1997 for CKBD and 31 August 1999 for CJJR-FM, the current expiry dates, upon surrender of the current licences. The licences will be subject to the same conditions as those in effect under the current licences, as well as to any other condition specified in the licences to be issued.
In approving these applications, the Commission has taken into account the fact that Great Pacific Industries Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jim Pattison Ltd. and that the transaction thus represents an intra-corporate reorganization without any change occurring in the control, programming or management of the licensee.
