Decision

Ottawa, 16 February 1995
Decision CRTC 95-56
Peace River Regional District
Lone Prairie, British Columbia - 940102700
New radiocommunication distribution undertaking
Following a Public Hearing in Vancouver beginning on 1 November 1994, the Commission approves the application for a licence to carry on a radiocommunication distribution undertaking consisting of a low-power television transmitter to serve Lone Prairie.
The Commission will issue a licence to Peace River Regional District, expiring 31 August 2001, subject to the conditions specified in this decision and in the licence to be issued.
This undertaking will distribute, in non-encrypted mode, the programming service of the Open Learning Agency (Knowledge Network), received via satellite, on channel 10, with a transmitter power of 10 watts.
It is a condition of licence that construction of this undertaking be completed and that it be in operation within twelve months of the date of this decision or, where the applicant applies to the Commission within this period and satisfies the Commission that it cannot complete implementation before the expiry of this period and that an extension is in the public interest, within such further period of time as is approved in writing by the Commission.
The Commission acknowledges the intervention received in support of this application.
