Decision

Ottawa, 10 August 1995
Decision CRTC 95-520
Marc L. Fenez (on behalf of a company to be incorporated)
Pine Falls, Powerview and St-Georges, Manitoba - 950151100
Acquisition of assets
Following a Public Hearing in Winnipeg beginning on 5 June 1995, the Commission approves the application for authority to acquire the assets of the cable distribution undertaking serving Pine Falls, Powerview and St-Georges from Winnipeg River Cable Co-op Ltd., and for a broadcasting licence to continue the operation of this undertaking.
The Commission will issue a licence to Marc L. Fenez (on behalf of a company to be incorporated), expiring 31 August 2001, upon surrender of the current licence. The operation of this undertaking will be regulated pursuant to Parts I and III of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986. The authority granted herein is subject to the same conditions as those in effect under the current licence, as well as to any other condition specified in the licence to be issued.
This authority will only be effective and the licence will only be issued at such time as the Commission receives documentation establishing that an eligible Canadian corporation has been incorporated and that it may be issued a licence.
In Public Notice CRTC 1992-59 dated 1 September 1992 and entitled "Implementation of an Employment Equity Policy", the Commission announced that the employment equity practices of broadcasters would be subject to examination by the Commission. In this regard, the Commission encourages the applicant to consider employment equity issues in its hiring practices and in all other aspects of its management of human resources.
