Transvision Plus Inc.
Granby, Quebec - 950153700
Distribution of PBS network duplicate
Following Public Notice CRTC 1995-47 dated 21 March 1995, the Commission approves in part the application by Transvision Plus Inc. for authority to distribute, at its option, WETK-TV Burlington, Vermont, a second PBS network signal, received over the air. However, this signal may not be distributed as part of the basic service, as proposed in the application, but only on a discretionary basis.
This appproval is consistent with Public Notice CRTC 1993-74 dated 3 June 1993 entitled "Structural Public Hearing" wherein the Commission stated that, with respect to the distribution of U.S. border television stations, it would generally be prepared to authorize the duplicate carriage of PBS network signals received over the air at the local head end, on a discretionary basis only in provinces served by a provincial educational broadcaster.
