Decision

Ottawa, 11 May 1995
Decision CRTC 95-208
BBS Ontario Incorporated
Timmins and area, Ontario - 941252900 - 941250300
Relocation of the CFCL-TV and CITO-TV transmitters and transmitting antennas and increase in power for CITO-TV
Following Public Notice CRTC 1995-41 dated 7 March 1995, the Commission approves the applications to amend the broadcasting licences for CFCL-TV and CITO-TV Timmins, by relocating the transmitters and transmitting antennas to a site 29 kilometres from the presently authorized location, and by increasing the effective radiated power for CITO-TV only, from 55,000 watts to 72,400 watts.
In support of its request, the licensee stated that, contrary to when it was originally constructed, the tower is now located in a residential area. The licensee claims that the aging tower needs to be replaced.
The Commission notes that the relocation of these antennas will result in an eastward displacement of the currently authorized service contours.
Allan J. Darling
Secretary General
