The Commission will issue licences to Great Pacific, upon surrender of the current licences. The licence for CFJC-TV and its transmitters will expire 31 August 1995; the licences for CIFM-FM and CFJC and their respective transmitters on 31 August 1996, the expiry dates of the current licences. The licences will be subject to the same conditions as those specified in the current licences as well as to any other condition specified in the licences to be issued.
In approving these applications, the Commission has taken into account the fact that Great Pacific will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jim Pattison Ltd., the current owner, and that the transaction thus represents an intra-corporate reorganization without any change occurring in the control, programming or management of the licensee.
