BC TEL - INTRODUCTION OF HOURLY RATES FOR THE INSTALLATION OF AND CHANGES TO SINGLE-LINE INSIDE WIRE
Reference: Tariff Notice 3051
The Commission has received an application from BC TEL, dated 9 March 1994, for approval of tariff revisions providing for the introduction of hourly rates for the installation of single-line inside wire, as well as for additions, moves and rearrangements.
BC TEL also proposes to revise its tariffs to make property owners responsible for arranging for single-line inside wire installations, additions, rearrangements and moves on their side of the demarcation point. Customers would have the option of obtaining inside wire either from
BC TEL or from another supplier.
BC TEL states that, for the time being, it would retain responsibility for the maintenance of all wires, cable and other transmitting media on the property owner's premises, without regard to the demarcation point, except (1) in hazardous locations, (2) when access to the premises is denied, or (3) when the customer has purchased multi-line terminal equipment. However, the company stated that it will be reviewing the provision of maintenance service at a later date.
The application may be examined at any of BC TEL's business offices or at the offices of the CRTC, Room 201, Central Building, Les Terrasses de la Chaudière, 1 Promenade du Portage, Hull, Quebec, or Suite 1380, 800 Burrard Street, Vancouver, British Columbia. A copy of
BC TEL's application may be obtained by any interested person upon request directed to the company at the address shown below.
If you wish to comment on the application, please write to Mr. Allan J. Darling, Secretary General, CRTC, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 0N2, fax: 819-953-0795, by 9 May 1994.
