Telecom Order CRTC 94-147
IN THE MATTER OF an application by Maritime Telegraph & Telephone Company Limited (MT&T) under Tariff Notice 411 dated 17 January 1994, for approval of revisions to General Tariff Item 1600 related to the company's Enhanced Local Services.
WHEREAS, in its application, the company proposed various rate increases to create a two-tier pricing structure for residence and business subscribers of its Enhanced Local Services and introduce multiple feature discounts for residence customers who subscribe to two or more eligible features;
WHEREAS the company proposed to move its Toll Restriction Service into the Enhanced Local Services section of its General Tariff and bring Toll Restriction rates and No-900 Service rates into line with those proposed for Custom Calling Service, Call Management Service and Voice Messaging Service;
WHEREAS the company also proposed to withdraw its currently available residence and business Custom Calling Service discount rate structure;
WHEREAS the company indicated that the proposed rates will maximize revenues and that its residence customers will benefit from the simplified rating contained in the proposed discount structure;
WHEREAS the company considered that discounts are not required for business customers;
WHEREAS the company noted that the introduction of the service No-900 filed under Tariff Notice 334 dated 30 April 1993, is currently outstanding with the Commission;
WHEREAS the company also noted that proposed changes to its Toll Restriction service is currently before the Commission in the General Rate Application filed 5 October 1993;
WHEREAS the company further noted that it has applied for provincial roll out of Call (Name) Display under Tariff Notice 380 dated 27 September 1993, as modified by Tariff Notice 380A dated 7 January 1994, and that the company is assuming in Tariff Notice 411 that these applications will be approved by the Commission;
WHEREAS the Commission notes that Tariff Notice 380, as modified by Tariff Notice 380A, is before the Commission;
WHEREAS the Commission notes that MT&T filed, under Tariff Notice 319 dated 3 March 1993, for tariff revisions related to the introduction of Premises-based 900 Service which is before the Commission; and
UPON reading the submissions filed -
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT:
The proposed tariff revisions submitted by MT&T under Tariff Notice 411 are approved effective 1 May 1994, amended as described below:
1. Disposition of the proposed rates for No-900 Service are deferred pending disposition of Tariff Notice 319 by the Commission.
2. Disposition of the proposed rates for Call (Name) Display are deferred pending disposition of Tariff Notice 380, as modified by Tariff Notice 380A, by the Commission.
