Decision

Ottawa, 22 March 1994
Decision CRTC 94-92
Lake Broadcasting Corp.
Monte Creek and South Thompson River Valley, British Columbia - 931496400
Extension of construction deadline
In Public Notice CRTC 1994-1 dated 5 January 1994, the Commission announced the application to amend the licence for the radiocommunication distribution undertaking authorized to distribute signals in encrypted mode to Monte Creek and South Thompson River Valley, by deleting the existing condition of licence relating to the construction and operation of the undertaking and substituting therefor:
It is a condition of licence that construction of the undertaking be completed and that it be in operation on or before 1 September 1994.
The Commission notes that this is the second request for an extension to the time limit for implementation of this undertaking.
The Commission is concerned with the lack of commitment to construct the undertaking. In view of these circumstances, the Commission is prepared to grant a twelve-month extension only. The existing condition of licence relating to the construction and operation of the undertaking is therefore deleted and the following substituted therefor:
It is a condition of licence that construction of the undertaking be completed and that it be in operation on or before 7 May 1994.
The Commission intends to discuss the implementation of the radiocommunication distribution undertaking with the licensee when it considers the renewal of its licence which expires 31 August 1994.
