Decision CRTC 94-883 | |
Vidéotron Ltée | |
Victoriaville, Quebec - 940928500
Licence amendment |
|
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1994-115 dated 12 September 1994, the Commission approves, by condition of licence, the application to be relieved from the requirement of paragraph 9(6)(b) of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 to distri-bute the regional signal of CHEM-TV (TVA) Trois-Rivières on the basic service of the cable distribution undertaking serving Victoriaville. The licensee will distribute instead the regional signal of CHLT-TV (TVA) Sherbrooke. The Commission notes that CHEM-TV's studios are located closer to the local head end of the undertaking than are those of CHLT-TV Sherbrooke.
The Commission, in arriving at its decision, has taken into account the licensee's argument that the majority of its subscribers identify with the Sherbrooke region and that businesses located in Victoriaville prefer to advertise on CHLT-TV.
