Decision

Ottawa, 4 October 1994
Decision CRTC 94-795
Télécâble Laurentien Inc.
Hull, Aylmer and Gatineau, Quebec; Buckingham, Masson and Angers, Quebec; Rockland and Clarence Point, Ontario - 940978000 - 940979800 - 940980600

Addition of WUTV (FOX)

Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1994-114 dated 9 September 1994, the Commission approves the applications by Télécâble Laurentien Inc. for authority to add, at its option, the distribution of WUTV (FOX) Buffalo, New York on a discretionary tier of the undertakings serving the above-mentioned communities.
This approval is consistent with the amendment to the Commission's policy governing the cable carriage of U.S. network signals announced in Public Notice CRTC 1994-107 dated 29 August 1994.
The Commission reminds the licensee that, before adding the distribution of this signal, it is first required to ensure that it will have the necessary channel capacity to distribute the services of the new pay and specialty television undertakings licensed in June 1994.
The Commission acknowledges the interventions submitted by The Movie Network, MOVIEPIX and by Canal Première/Viewer's Choice Canada in support of these applications.
