Decision CRTC 94-70
MH Acquisition Inc.
Calgary; Lethbridge, Alberta - 931051700 - 931052500
Acquisition of assets
Following a Public Hearing in Calgary beginning on 25 January 1994, the Commission approves the applications for authority to acquire the assets of the television programming undertakings CFCN-TV Calgary and CFCN-TV-5 Lethbridge from CFCN Communications Limited, as part of an intracorporate transfer, and for broadcasting licences to continue the operation of these undertakings.
The Commission will issue licences to MH Acquisition Inc., both expiring 31 August 1994, the expiry date of the current licences, upon surrender of the current licences. The licences will be subject to the same conditions as those in effect under the current licences, as well as to any other condition specified in the licences to be issued.
In approving these applications, the Commission has taken into account the fact that both MH Acquisition Inc. and CFCN Communications Limited are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Maclean Hunter Limited, and that the transaction thus represents an intracorporate reorganization without any change occurring in the ultimate control, the programming or the management of the licensee.
