Decision CRTC 93-364
Spences Bridge Community Club
Spences Bridge, British Columbia - 920688900 - 921359600 - 921360400
Licence renewal
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1993-57 dated 4 May 1993, the Commission renews the licence for the radiocommunication distribution undertaking serving Spences Bridge from 1 September 1993 to 31 August 2000, subject to the conditions in effect under the current licences, as well as to those conditions specified in the licence to be issued. This undertaking consists of four television transmitters including CJNA-TV-1, CJNA-TV-2 and CH2330.
The licensee is authorized to continue to distribute, in non-encrypted mode, the programs of CFJC-TV and CHKM-TV Kamloops, the CBC Northern Television Service and the Knowledge Network.
The Department of Communications has advised the Commission that it is prepared to renew the Broadcasting Certificate for the transmitter CH2330 for a period of one year only, expiring 31 August 1994. With respect to the operation of this transmitter beyond this period, the Commission draws the licensee's attention to subsection 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act pertaining to the technical certification of broadcasting undertakings and to subsection 22(4) which provides that any broadcasting licence issued, amended or renewed in contravention of section 22 is of no force or effect. The Commission notes the intervention in support of these applications submitted by the Open Learning Agency.
